NTG will be performing network-infrastructure upgrades for a local Government agency. NTG is seeking an experienced Wireless Engineer. This individual will work closely with Government representatives. The Wireless Engineer will be replacing twenty-one (21) new network components to support connectivity throughout a Government facility. Additionally, the Wireless Engineer will be replacing existing wireless access points with fifteen (15) new access points to enable connection to the Enterprise Wireless System.
Install wireless network components to provide wireless data connectivity between appropriately equipped endpoints.
All wired network components shall be installed in appropriate telecommunication racks with associated cable management.
Test wired network components for proper operation.
Transfer existing network connections in the buildings from the existing infrastructure to the new equipment.
Configure Cisco WLAN controllers, Access points and Network switches.
Perform network related tasks, including configuration of Cisco ISR routers and switches.
Provide detailed network drawings and diagrams and relation as-built documentation.
Skills / Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of 802.11 based wireless architecture.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in wireless (Cisco) engineering.
Cisco partner experience is a bonus.
Strong working knowledge installing, configuring, and supporting Cisco Router/Switch and Wireless LAN Hardware products.
Must have excellent communication skills, writing skills, and the ability to work with team members at all levels.
Excellent customer interface, oral communications, and technical writing skills are a must.
Cisco knowledge with network design, operational support, hands-on implementation and configuration of routers, hubs, switches, Controllers, Access points, and cabling in a large enterprise LAN/WAN /WLAN environment.
Education / Experience:
Minimum 7 years’ professional experience, preferably working with the Government
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Associates degree or less acceptable with additional experience
US citizenship is mandatory
Must be able to obtain National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) security clearance, if required
