IT Project Manager, Networking

NTG will be performing network-infrastructure upgrades for a local Government agency.  NTG is seeking a talented individual who will represent NTG as the Project Manager while working onsite.  This individual will work closely with Government representatives.  The Project Manager will be overseeing the cable installation and wireless installation throughout the project until completion. 

The specific tasks which the Project Manager will be overseeing are:

  • Wireless network cabling
  • Backbone cabling
  • Installation/Configuration of wired network components
  • Installation/Configuration of wireless network components
  • Installation/Configuration of uninterruptible power supply components
  • On-site IT Technical Support which will manage transition and end user support
  • Update of existing location diagrams to reflect installed components

Job Duties:

  • Provide all necessary plans and drawings, work schedules with milestones.
  • Host visual inspections of work as it progresses and host regular meetings to exchange information and identify issues related to the network upgrades.
  • Implement a continuing knowledge transfer program to ensure valuable information and data is not lost.
  • Provide on-site IT technical support throughout the duration of the upgrade/transition.
  • Assist with implementation and troubleshooting issues affecting local personnel due to the transition.

 

 

Skills / Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification is required
  • Minimum of 10 years’ knowledge of Government scientific research mission, programs, priorities and IT interrelationships and requirements.
  • Education / Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years’ professional experience, preferably working with the Government
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Associates degree or less acceptable with additional experience
  • Must possess one of the following: PMP Certification
  • US citizenship is mandatory

Must be able to obtain National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) security clearance, if required
